Welcome to the Foote Creek Art Studio!

Meet the Artist!

Our artist Olivia Ulmer during her travels in Europe. Location is Assisi, Italy.

My Background

Hello! My name is Olivia Ulmer, and I grew up in South Dakota. Later I was blessed to get to pursue two of my favorite passions in college, theology and English, but I discovered at the same time my growing love and appreciation for art. I have always loved art and found it to be one of the most priceless gifts a person could ever give. It was always the perfect creative outlet as well as treasure to return to my family.

How I Got Started

After studying abroad in Austria, I decided to go deeper with my passion and turn it into a career. My home for that semester was an old Carthusian monastery, and there I was surrounded by beauty and began to fall more deeply in love with it. After one semester I returned again to specifically take art and painting classes and I would say this is where my style truly grew! Today I try to find ways to bring that beauty that I fell in love with to life through art.

My Mission

Out of all the transcendentals, goodness, truth, and beauty, the one I think sometimes speaks the loudest is beauty. I believe beauty is the fastest way to pierce a heart. Having a lot I want to tell the world, I hope to speak it through my work and my art. Also, in scripture they say the Lord made all things beautiful, so I hope to do so as well, or to at least take the time to acknowledge those beautiful things that he made.
